ADDITIONAL TRIP INFORMATION:

 

 

Packing - what you'll need:

Valid Government issued identification (Drivers License or Passport)

Easy to carry luggage

Small day pack or backpack for water bottle, sweater, layers, raincoat, etc.

Clothes for touring/job sites:

Jeans, layers of warm clothes

Shoes: work boots or closed-toed very sturdy shoes – above a “sneaker” type of shoe for safety purposes

For tunnel – high mud boots if you have them, Can be very muddy down in tunnel…

Coat, hat, gloves if needed

Raingear in case of rain – raincoat, umbrella

Clothes for Mass on Sunday

Water bottle

Food/drinks/snacks for bus on Thursday and Sunday (or money to purchase along road)

 

Wi-fi on bus: There will be wi-fi on the bus, and outlets at the seats. But, please remember that the bus company is not responsible for keeping track of any personal items during the trip.

 

Hotel rooming list:  Will be distributed on the bus.  Upon arrival at the hotel, one person from each room should go to the counter to get the room key.

 

Traveling as a group:  There have been a few requests for field trip participants to visit friends or relatives while we are in New York City.  As per University sponsored trip guidelines, we are traveling as a group, and we need to stay with the group.  If you have family in the New York City area and they would like to meet up with the group for a dinner or at the hotel at the end of our day, that would be fine.  Please let us know ahead so that they can be added to the meal count.

 

Expenses/Meals:

All trip expenses are being paid through the generous support of the Murphy Travel Fund, and by the College of Engineering and the Department of Civil Engineering and Geological Sciences, except for breakfast/lunch on Thursday during the bus ride (either bring along in backpack or buy when we stop at rest stops along the way) and dinner on Sunday during the bus ride (either bring along in backpack or buy when we stop at rest stops along the way).
